Since then, towns around the globe have started their own dance troupes and it's morphed into a Halloween tradition all over the United States - as a fun way to gather your girlfriends and celebrate the season. Walpurgis is a German holiday that celebrates fertility, normally accompanied with dancing, food, and drinking every year in April. The Witch Dance started in Germany in 2016 when the women of the Wolfshäger Hexenbrut, (in English: The Wolf Hunter's Coven), performed a flash mob-styled dance at a Walpurgis celebration. We are a gathering of folx who enjoy dressing up at witches and having a bit of fun. But their images were easily relevant to another pre-Christian seasonal holiday, Halloween, especially given the German dominance of the postcard publishing industry before World War I. IT'S OFFICIAL - the HORRIBLES PARADE has been moved to SUNDAY, OCT 31st at NOON, due to rainy weather on Saturday. These German witches actually have nothing to do with Halloween they flew to the mountains on Walpurgis night, the transition between spring and summer.
